HYDERABAD: The Bharat Rashtra Samithi has opened a new front against Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, demanding a full Enforcement Directorate investigation into the business interests, assets and financial transactions of the Chief Minister's family. Addressing a press conference at the party headquarters, Telangana Bhavan, on Saturday, BRS former corporation chairman Manne Krishank alleged that Revanth Reddy was using his office to promote business interests connected to his family while dodging questions about their rapidly expanding assets. Krishank claimed his allegations were backed by concrete evidence. "These are not questions being raised in the air. We are placing documents, company records and financial details before the public and the investigating agencies," he said. The specific allegations centre on the healthcare sector. Krishank alleged links between Maxbien Pharma, Medicover Hospitals and individuals connected to the Chief Minister's family, and demanded that the ownership structures, shareholdings, investments and financial transactions of these companies be independently investigated. He further claimed that Rs 13,000 crore of alleged black money had been converted into legitimate funds through Medicover-related transactions, and demanded a detailed ED probe into the source of funds, beneficial ownership, shareholding patterns, related-party transactions and the movement of money across the companies. Krishank also raised questions over Geetha Automotive, alleging that five Hyundai showrooms were established in Hyderabad after the Chief Minister met senior Hyundai representatives in South Korea, and that an investor named Dumpa Sirisha held interests across multiple companies. "Who are the real investors? Who are the beneficial owners? What is the source of the investment? These questions can be answered only through an independent financial investigation," he said. The BRS leader tied the business allegations to a governance charge: that the Chief Minister repeatedly inaugurates private healthcare establishments while government hospitals and public healthcare infrastructure are neglected. "Government hospitals and schools are not being built at the required pace, but private hospitals and educational institutions associated with the Chief Minister's family are expanding," Krishank alleged. The demand follows Thursday's challenge by BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao, who dared Revanth Reddy to order an inquiry by a sitting Supreme Court judge into the assets of both their families — "from our grandfathers' assets to your grandfathers' assets" — responding to allegations the Chief Minister had made against him at a Sircilla public meeting. The exchange is the latest escalation in a running war of words between the ruling Congress government and the opposition BRS. Less than a month ago, Rama Rao alleged a Rs 200-crore land deal involving a company linked to the Chief Minister's brother, and claimed BRS legislators were suspended from the Assembly to stop them raising the issue in the House. The Chief Minister's camp is yet to respond to Saturday's specific charges. The Justice has not independently verified the BRS's claims; what is verifiable is the pattern — corruption charges have become the opposition's sharpest weapon against this government, and the demand for a central agency probe puts the ball squarely in New Delhi's court.
